The Calm Before the Storm
Out of five photographs I submitted to the Photographer's Forum, this was chosen out of 13,000+ submitted nation wide. YAY! This picture ranked 104th on the list thus going to be printed in the Best Photography of 2011. Ok, so I'm a sucker.....I bought the book that will come out in the next few months. The story behind this picture: We were on vacation in Pigeon Forge, TN. Getting up early one morning we decided to make a run through Cades Cove. If you've never been through this one way tour of the most beautiful countryside ever created, you must add it to your Bucket List! Mind you, this was a one way drive.......thus when I saw this photo op, Van had to pull over enough for me to get out & take this picture. The morning was so serene & peaceful that even that shows up in this picture. A heavy fog also graced us but moved right along as our trip continued. We saw (and I snapped away) so many deer and other animals along the way. No bears this trip though...sigh. I've got a new camera now and can't wait to go on this trip again!
