Jewelry Monday!

It's MONDAY and time for an awesome Blog Hop!  The Designers Crafts Connection Blog Hop that is!  It's all about creating simple jewelry!  Be sure to check out all the amazing projects that the talented designers of the DCC have in store for you!  Make sure you click on the DCC button on the  sidebar.

This simple wooden bangle was turned into an amazing mixed media piece to be treasured for years to come.

Items needed for this project:

egg shells (cleaned/membrane removed/dried)
acrylic paint: lavender
Aleene's Tacky Glue
Mod Podge, high gloss
alcohol inks (purple, red, yellow--shown here)
Alcohol
Emery board

•   Paint bangle with lavender paint. Dry
•   Spread thin layer of glue around outer bangle,
working in small areas at a time.
•   Picking up pieces of egg shells, layer on top
of glue, smashing egg shell to break.
Continue until bangle is covered.  Let dry.
•  Holding alcohol bottle & let drops fall onto the
egg shell pieces.  Alcohol will spread & fill in
    the cracks.
•   When inked as desired, use a Q-tip dipped in
alcohol to spread color to any white egg shell
     showing.  Let dry.
•   Use the emery board to smooth the edges of
     the bangle.
•   Coat with Mod Podge.  Dry
                                                                             ENJOY!!
