A Rustic Picnic!

What can I say?  I LOVE Burlap!

With the summer season beginning to peek around the corner, people are uncovering their grills that will soon be putting out wonderful smells of BBQ chicken, pork chops, burgers along with grilled veggies!  Out comes the blanket to cover up the grass or a tablecloth to cover the wooden table top, and finally a picnic basket bursting forth with it's hidden bounty.  Bottled water, iced tea/fruit teas to top off the whole scene.

Using two kinds of burlap, tan & off white, I created this rustic table setting.  A mat cut into a rectangle lined an inch from four sides with metallic threads to add a sparkle.  A Sizzix die was used to cut out the flowers, layered and attached to the mat with brads.  One large layered flower in the bottom right hand corner, with three little flowers that appear to be floating in the right hand top corner.  To sit your beverage on:  a stencil was used to lay over the cork, sprayed with brown die.  Wooden knife, fork & spoon wrapped with burlap & twine, topped off with a small seashell.  The napkin is a square, off-white piece of burlap, gathered in the center, wrapped with twine & layered flowers.  When the places are set, this makes an awesome display!
