By the Sea Pendant

By the sea pendant was inspired by RockCandy Studios!

This pendant is simply beautiful in person. The glass like finish is still curing because I've used multiple layers of DG3 Art Gel. I just had to shoot a picture of it to show it off! RockCandy studios had most of the materials to really set this piece off.

This is an extreme closeup. The picture, part of the scallop trim (too big to use on this piece so I cut it to fit on the left & bottom edges), beads & a few pieces of watch innards in coated over with 3 coats of DG3. I then sprinkled gold leaf foil to add the little sparkle (from this picture, I see the foil bled a bit) and covered with more DG3 art glaze. When the glaze dried to the level of the pendant sides, I added another watch innard part. Strung up some beads, added a lovely hand dyed ribbon to further add to the elegance of the piece.

The end result is:

Materials used from my stash: color copy image, assorted beads, jump rings, closure.
Materials used from RockCandyStudios http://stores.rockcandystudios.com/StoreFront.bok :
Hand-dyed silk ribbon (teal)
Scallop border - light blue
Watch Innards
Large Pendant - square
DG3 Art Gel

I love the way you layered the elements to give dimension... and you know I LOVE the color. Gosh I gotta find some time to create something other than wedding things, although I'm loving every minute of that, too.
